Instructions
- Cut the beef into 1" cubes.
- Marinate the beef with fish sauce, Maggi Seasoning, oyster sauce, garlic salt, sugar and black pepper. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or more.
- Thinly slice the onion and set aside.
- Make the vinaigrette dressing. In a bowl pour in the warm water and add in the sugar. Stir to dissolve. Then also add in the unseasoned rice vinegar, black pepper and salt. Stir then place the thinly sliced onions in the vinaigrette dressing.
- Cover and place on the counter for at least 1 hour.
- Prepare the salad plate. Put some lettuce on the plate first.
- Then add the sliced tomatoes.
- Also add the thinly sliced onions from the vinaigrette dressing.
- And then place the cilantro in the center of the salad. Drizzle some of the vinaigrette dressing onto the salad and set aside.
- Place a cast iron skillet on the stove and turn the heat on to High. Once the skillet is hot add a tablespoon of cooking oil. Wait a minute for the oil to get hot then add in the beef. Do not over crowd the pan. If you have a small skillet then cook in two batches.
- Spread the beef out in a single layer and do not stir. Leave the beef alone for a minute or two until it has browned then flip the beef over.
- Once the beef has been flipped over again do not stir the beef. Cook for 1 minute then add in the minced garlic. Still do not stir yet for another 30 seconds to a minute. Then give the beef a toss and add in the un-salted butter.
- Toss again and cook until the butter has melted.
- Transfer the beef to the salad plate and serve immediately.
- Serve with white rice.
