There are 2 kinds of Banh Pia Custard Cakes: Mung Bean Cakes With Salted Egg Yolks ( green bag $6.49 ) and Durian Cake ( yellow bag $4.39)

Seeing how popular these were, I had purchased the Mung Bean Cakes ( green bag ) below to give them a try . I think it would be more of a hit with Asians than it would be for Americans…lol…No one in my family liked these. Perhaps the Durian cakes might possibly be better than the mung bean ones . But I don’t enjoy the smell of Durian..lol… These Pia cakes are small but that’s probably a good thing..lol…..I wouldn’t be able to eat more than that as it is really sweet . As you eat toward the center, you can definitely taste the salted egg yolk. It might have been more tolerable to eat if the salted egg yolk was omitted…lol..These are selling like hot cakes at my Costco but for my family it is a pass…lol. I might have to give the rest away to my sister-in-law who is Vietnamese and will probably enjoy these.

I couldn’t find any reviews on the Banh Pia Custard Mung Bean Cakes With Salted Egg Yolks so below are some reviews on the Banh Pia Custard Durian Cakes ( yellow bag ) from other Costco members :
