Chinese Sausages
Ingredients
- 1 Package Chinese Sausages
- Enough Water To Cover The Sausages
- 1 Tablespoon Vegetable Oil
Instructions
- Open package and separate the sausages.
- Place the sausages in a pan and pour in just enough water to cover the sausages.
- Place a lid on the pan and turn the heat on to Medium High. Bring the water to a boil.
- Once the water has come to a boil reduce the heat to Low. Keep the lid on pan and simmer for 35 minutes.
- Remove the sausages from the pan and discard the water. Then pat the sausages dry with some paper towels.
- Wipe the pan dry and add in the cooking oil. Turn the heat on to Medium. Place the sauages back into the pan and saute the sausages until browned. While in the pan keep the sausages moving so that they brown evenly. It should take about 3 to 4 minutes for them to brown.
- Remove from the pan and pat dry with some paper towels.
- Let them cool then thinly slice the sausages.
Notes
Another way you can do this is once the sausages have been removed from the boiling water, pat them dry with some paper towels. Then thinly slice them and saute them in the oil. The sliced sausages will be crispier than if you were to use the recipe above. If you saute the chinese sausages whole as stated in the original recipe above, the sausage will be soft on the inside and crispy on the outside once they are sliced . Either way will work. It just depends on the texture that you prefer.
