“Yes pecan pie freezes well.”
“Froze some last year and had it a couple weeks ago. It was amazing!”
“My Dad freezes his. He precuts it, lays a piece of plastic wrap on the top and then wraps it more plastic wrap. He cuts it so he can just take a piece when he wants it. He will pull a piece out and cover and put it in the fridge and wait till it thaws. Says it tastes just like it did when he brought it home.”
“I freeze them in quarters in plastic freezer bags. Perfect for the two of us for a couple of meals”
“So we hall know this pie is huge.We all know you want none of it to be wasted. So I had several good sized servings left and decided to try and freeze in individual servings to pull out when I wanted their pecan pie after the season. I sliced them. Put them , uncovered,on a plate, a baking pan , paper plate whatever. Let them freeze until filling pretty firm. Vacuum sealed in individual freeze saver bags. The one you see on the plate is thawed after frozen and tastes exactly like fresh! I know probably too much trouble for some but for those of us living with perhaps one or 2 family members, it works for me. When I want a piece of pecan pie and some coffee it is right there.”
