Servings 6 People

Ingredients

  • 3 Cups Jasmine Rice

Saute The Rice With:

  • 5 Tablespoons Butter
  • 4 Garlic Cloves ( Chopped )

Add To The Pan:

  • 1 Cup Tomato Sauce ( Need 1 Can Of Tomato Sauce - 15 oz )
  • 3 Cups Organic Chicken Stock
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Garlic Salt
  • 1 Teaspoon Chili Powder
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Cumin
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Black pepper

Season The Spanish Rice With:

  • Salt
  • Black Pepper

Equipment Needed:

  • 12" Deep Skillet With Lid
  • Cooking Spatula

Instructions

  • Rinse the grains of rice several times until the water runs clear. Strain the rice.
  • In a deep skillet over medium heat, melt 5 tablespoons of butter.
  • Once the butter has melted, toss in the minced garlic and cook for 15 seconds.
  • Then dump the rice into the pan and mix with the butter and minced garlic. Stirring occasionally, cook the rice for 5 minutes until the rice turns translucent.
  • Then pour in 1 cup of tomato sauce and mix until all the rice is coated with the sauce.
  • Pour in 3 cups of organic chicken stock and stir.
  • Stir in ½ teaspoon garlic salt, 1 teaspoon chili powder, ½ teaspoon cumin, and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper and bring to a boil.
  • Once it comes to a boil, immediately reduce the heat to MEDIUM-LOW. Give it one last stir and place a lid on the pan.
  • Cook the rice for 25 minutes or until the rice is dry. If you do not have a good non-stick pan then you may have to stir the rice every 5 minutes otherwise it will create a crust on the bottom of the rice. But if you do stir the rice be sure to do it quickly to avoid all the heat from escaping from the pan which will cause your rice to be undercooked. If you have a good non-stick pan then you can cook your rice and leave it undisturbed for 25 minutes.
  • After cooking the rice for 25 minutes, TURN OFF THE HEAT. Give the rice a stir and fluff it up. Then place the lid back on the pan for 5 minutes. Then remove the lid and stir the rice once again. This time place the lid back on the pan for 10 minutes Remove the lid and stir again..
  • Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Then serve it with anything that you want ! 🙂
