This year for 2023, I had decided to wait until the day after Thanksgiving to buy the Costco turkey dinner meal kit so that I can purchase it at a reduced price. At the Garden Grove location, they had reduced the price by $20 as seen in the photo of the price sign below. I had made sure to show up at Costco first thing in the morning the day after Thanksgiving and when they had opened their doors I headed straight to the deli section. I was so happy to see that they still had some available as I know that some locations actually sell out before Thanksgiving. I did however notice that the turkey dinner kit included broccoli this year opposed to last year’s kit which had contained green beans. The turkey dinner meal ended up costing about $16 and that is such a great deal !! I don’t expect that there will be any left by the end of the day!

Price as of 11/24/23 at the Garden Grove location.

Price as of 11/17/22 at the Yorba Linda location.

The Thanksgiving turkey dinner trays comes complete with 1/2 bone-in turkey breast with Yukon Gold potatoes, cranberry sauce, green beans, poultry gravy and herb stuffing is now available at some Costcos as of 11-17-22 !!!

Serves 3-4 people.

Call your local Costco if you’d like to know if they have them available as well. Please Google the phone number for you Costco and when you hear the automated messages press 1 to speak to the Administrative staff. Provide them with the item number 14882 as seen in the photo below and they can tell you if they have it or when they are expecting to receive it.

I have heard lots of good reviews for this meal and was told by other members that they usually sell out quick ! This turkey dinner makes Thanksgiving affordable for small families that are on a budget !

Above are the cooking instructions for the Costco Turkey Dinner Meal Kit .

Ingredients for the Costco turkey dinner meal kit.

So for this year 2022, I have decided to give the Costco turkey dinner a try and I thought that the turkey meal kit was fantastic ! You get a complete meal so it is not necessary to buy all the ingredients individually which would cost a ton a money ! Every Thanksgiving I would usually buy a whole cart full of stuff to make my Thanksgiving dinner costing me well over $100 for my family and this year, all I had to do was pick up this turkey dinner meal kit ! Gosh, I wish I had purchased these in the years past ! Everything was delicious and surprisingly the turkey is moist and not dry ! My only complaint would be the stuffing which I had found it to be a tad salty.

I had baked the turkey as directed but had removed the green beans from the pan because I prefer to cook the green beans in a skillet instead. To kill two birds with one stone, I had poured the gravy into the empty space where the green beans had occupied beside the mashed potatoes and then loosely covered the tray with aluminum foil. This way I can warm both of them both up at the same time. Once the oven had pre-heated at 425 degrees, I had placed the uncovered turkey in the oven on the second level and had placed the mashed potatoes and gravy on the fourth level so that they can all cook together. After 20 minutes, I had removed the tray of mashed potatoes and gravy from the oven momentarily so that I can give the gravy a quick stir then returned it to the oven. At this point, also take out the turkey momentarily to cover the turkey with aluminum foil, return to the oven and REDUCE the heat to 375 for another 30 minutes. Afterwards the mashed potatoes and gravy should be nice and hot. Remove from the oven and set aside. Check on the turkey at the 1 hour mark. If the turkey has not reached 165 degrees then continue to cook the poultry until done. You may have to cook it for another 15-20 minutes or so. Make sure to use a cooking thermometer for the perfect turkey! Once the temperature of the turkey has reached 165 degrees as stated on the cooking directions then the turkey is done. This is just how I personally cooked this meal, but of course you can just follow the cooking directions on the label.

To the far right is the package of gravy which was placed under the tray of mashed potatoes and green beans.

The picture above shows how I had removed the green beans from the tray and poured in the gravy so that they can both be warmed up at the same time.

These are the green beans that I had cooked in a skillet with some olive oil, the pat of butter that was provided, minced garlic, a bit of water, Costco’s Truffle Parmesan & Black Garlic Seasoning, salt and pepper.

This is what the mashed potatoes and gravy looks like after it has been warmed in the oven.

This is what the turkey looks like once it has baked in the oven.

The above photo shows it all plated and sure does resemble a homemade meal !

Below are some comments and reviews on this Costco Prepared Turkey Dinner Meal from other Costco members:

GOOD REVIEWS

“This is actually good we had it last year”

“Cook the turkey pan at 420 until skin is crispy and browned (about 20 minutes). Then lower to 375 and cover with foil. Cook for about 60-90 minutes or until breast reads 165. About 30 minutes before the turkey is done, add the veggie pan to the oven so they finish at the same time.Yes, do a different stuffing. But it’s still good to cook the turkey on the stuffing bed for flavor.”

“It’s easy enough just to put the beans in a skillet and cook them separately on the stove top while cooking the turkey and stuffing in the oven. You’re probably better off separating the turkey from the stuffing but that’s really up to you..”

“I’ve bought the Costco mac n cheese a few times before but I never thought to doctor them up like my grandma’s homemade Mac n cheese. Buttered breadcrumbs and paprika on top before baking then 5 minutes under the broiler. Delicious! Three fifths of our meal was from Costco since we only had 2.5 people eating, and it was a brilliant choice! Happy Thanksgiving Costconians!”

“Our green beans were quite underdone with the rest being perfect with directions”

“We got this last year for our small family of 3 and it was perfect! Super yummy too 😋

“These are so so good!”

“I cooked it yesterday. 425° turkey/dressing uncovered for 20 minutes. Lower temp 375° cover with foil 1-1.5 hrs or when internal temp turns 165°. I seasoned my green beans w/salt/pepper/Italian seasoning/garlic /olive oil/butter then covered with foil and cooked in oven 30 minutes.”

“Yay! I had one last year it was amazing!”

“Brought the pre meal thanksgiving dinner and the mac n cheese from Costco. The stuffing was ok. Regret not cooking the green beans in a separate pan. The mashed potatoes kinda taste like green beans.”

“Get them quick while they last!!!”

“I’ve been getting this for the past several years and it’s great! One thing I learned the first year is to take the green beans out and steam them instead of cooking it along side the potatoes. They were way over-cooked.”

“I did this last year, and it was quite tasty.’

“This is really good! I’ve bought this the last couple of years for my family of 3. I make a few more sides to go with it and done!”

“Turkey, mashed potatoes, cranberry, veggies, gravy and stuffing. Get them before they sell out in a couple days. These are my favorite pre-packaged meals!”

“We are a family of 2 and this was a great option for us last year. We are going out this year but will be buying the pre-made dinners again in the future.”

“We bought this for Thanksgiving 2020 (Covid) when the two of us were home alone. We loved it and there was plenty for at least 4 people.”

“I bought this last year. I bought it when they came out about a week before thanksgiving. Everyone said they’d sell out so I bought it when I saw it. I didn’t freeze it. The potatoes went bad before the holiday and tainted the green beans too. So I only got to eat the turkey and stuffing tin which was very good.”

“Butcher told us they are fine 5 days after the sell by date. We bought this last year and it was great!”

“My opinion is this is a very good meal overall and something you could proudly serve to family for the holidays. A couple things to note are: there is absolutely no seasoning on the green beans so show them a little extra love maybe with some garlic salt. The turkey is a bit salty. I didn’t mind it and I’m rarely bothered by salt but I know some people are very sensitive to it. There are not many green beans. I think the turkey, stuffing, gravy and potatoes could feed 5 easy, the green beans could feed 2-3. If you’re serving bread and a fresh side like salad or even corn, this meal could maybe even feed 6. I love cranberry sauce and this one is pretty good. I ate half of one container by myself. This was a win. I’d buy this again for sure!”

“For under $40 it was great. I added salt, pepper, garlic and extra butter to my mashed potatoes and green beans. So good”

“Made this last year. It was easy, affordable and delicious. Just add some appetizers and desserts to make a complete meal.”

“I got it last year and we all loved it!! Highly recommend.”

“I bought this about 3 years ago. It was great! Glad to see it back.”

“Bought one 2 years. Very tasty”

“These are great! Had them in years past. Can’t beat it! 🦃🥔

“We bought it a year or 2 ago and we really enjoyed it. The turkey was very well flavored!”

“We had that two years ago and it was so good. The gravy was yummy and wish they would sell it separately. I will be buying another one this year’

“It’s good! We’ve cooked it on more than one occasion!”

“It was a hit!”

“It’s been a few years since we’ve had one because we are closer to family now, but the two years we got one, it was GREAT!”

“Its really good. We’ve bought it 2 years in a row. Price is up this year…”

“yes it can be frozen. We usually buy 2 and freeze one to have at Christmas the last couple years.”

“I got one last year and it was great!!!! Hoping my Costco in Lancaster PA has them this year! It is just me and my brother for Thanksgiving and this is so simple…and delicious! We had leftovers too!”

“I decided at the last minute that I wanted a relaxing day to myself for Thanksgiving but love Thanksgiving food. I bought the Costco meal for $25 and it was great! I did not put the mash and beans in when I did the Turkey, I should have, they took awhile. The beans were the only thing that could have used a little flavor. For $25 it was perfect and easy clean up! The dogs had their share also – it was such a great relaxing day!” ( Review from 2021)

“We did the same thing but swapped the green beans (no flavor) for corn. The mash potatoes are so good!”

“I got this last year! It was perfect and delicious 😋

“Did the same here. Baked 75 minutes in a roaster oven, it was fork tender and delicious! Actually used my flip oven to warm potatoes, microwaved green beans and made candied yams in the Instant Pot. So easy and the dishwasher cleaned up everything but the carving knife and digital meat thermometer 🤣🤣😋😋

“We got this for the carb eaters in my house. The turkey was so good! I didn’t eat the carbs but everyone said everything was really good. My dog also got some ❤️

“OHHH ….Ours was So good!…..I ended up putting the green beans in the airfryer to finish them up!! ..but all was SO YUMMY!!”

“We bought this for home since we were going elsewhere for dinner. I made this today, I added a little extra seasoning to the turkey and green beans and it was soooo good and easy! Even my mom, whos very picky said she really liked it!”

“My daughter bought that meal for me so I added some more butter to the mash potatoes and a little butter, garlic powder, salt and pepper to the green beans and the meal was delicious!!!”

“My husband & I had this, too! It was fabulous! We added bacon to the green beans & they were amazing! We’ll definitely do this again!”

“We got that turkey dinner for the first time and we were amazed how good everything was. It was only the two of us this year. This dinner could be for a family of four so we had leftovers. After everything got cooked I added Season All on the beans and they were very good, besides they put a good amount of butter on. I would buy again, it tasted pretty much like homemade, very impressed!!”

“We loved it too! I microwaved the potatoes and green beans and they came out great!”

“I bought 2 of these meals and they were DELICIOUS ❗

“We had this meal for 3 last year right after my mom passed. So easy and delicious.”

“I made this the day after Thanksgiving because I didn’t bring any leftovers home it was delicious”

“It’s half a turkey breast. It has bones but easy to deal with. It’s really good. The 2 of us had it last night and tonite and there’s more left. I did put the fresh green beans in a pan today to sauté because they were too underdone in the oven. You don’t see the gravy as it’s in a bag on the bottom of the 2 trays.”

“Made ours tonight and it was really good.”

“I loved those when I was in CA. Please sell them in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. 😁💕

“Did these last year. Really very good!”

“We LOVE this. Can’t wait to have it again this year.”

“We grabbed one and I cooked it on Sat I added Hawaiian rolls and buttered corn on the cobb it was soooo good it did feed us a fam of 2 adults and 4 kids but my little ones eat small portions”

“Very good. Simple to make”

😎 yes it’s really 👍🏾 good”

” So easy to prepare

“We had this dinner this weekend for Friendsgiving. Turkey was tener and good flavor. I was surprised and highly recommend this dinner”

“Had it last night. For that price? Hard to complain about it! That Turkey was super moist ( I hate to use that word).”

“This was my review for this dinner that i sent to my sister. We had a pre-thanksgiving a few days ago.

Turkey-pretty good, stayed moist

Gravy- delicious , just wanted a little more.

Potatoes- good once you stirred them up good with butter. Comparable with instant.

Stuffing- pretty good- not as good as stove top, lol. Im a stove top gal.

Green beans- they needed a lot of help and doctoring up. Might add corn and do something different with the green beans.

Cranberry sauce- tastes like homemade.

Wish i had a hot roll with butter 😋

“Pre-made Costco Thanksgiving meal turned out great. I did a little extra with the green beans and made a casserole.”

“Bought the Costco premade meal and it looks fabulous. I have outdone myself again.”

“It was a fantastic meal!”

“We loved ours”

I thought the stuff was good.

1.5 total cooking hours.

1st 20 minutes turkey at 420 (I think)

Next 40 minutes bake it down

Last 30 minutes side’s

Ended up needing to cook the sides a little longer and add extra seasoning to beans.”

BAD REVIEWS

( I could not find any bad reviews for this product except for the one below. )

“great for people who do not cook or like convenience. I do cook but decided to cheat one year. It was just okay nothing special or real tasty about it. I would not buy it again but everyone’s taste is different.”

“We had some and it’s a complete dissapoint. Going back!”
