Homemade Strawberry Lemonade

Ingredients
  

For the sugar syrup ( Will make 1 1/2 cups of sugar syrup )

  • 1 Cup ROOM TEMPERATURE Water
  • 1 Cup Sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon Lemon Zest From 1 to 2 Lemons

Other ingredients needed:

  • 2 Cups Fresh Strawberries Trimmed & Halved - Will make 3/4 cups of pureed strawberries.
  • 1 Cup Fresh Lemon Juice From 6 to 8 lemons
  • 5 Cups COLD Water

Instructions
 

  • Make the sugar syrup. In a bowl combine the room temperature water, sugar and lemon zest.
  • Place the bowl in the microwave for 3 to 4 minutes. Stir to dissolve the sugar.
  • Let the sugar syrup completely cool. Strain and discard the lemon zest.
  • Wash the strawberries.

  • Trim off the top of the strawberries and slice in half.
  • Place the sliced strawberries into a blender and puree for 1 minute or until smooth. Set aside.
  • Roll the lemons. Then juice them.
  • Strain the lemon juice and discard the pulp and seeds.
  • In a bowl combine 1 cup of fresh lemon juice, 1 1/2 cups of sugar syrup, and 5 cups of cold water.
  • Then add in the 3/4 cups of pureed strawberries.
  • Stir to combine.
  • Place some lemon slices or fresh strawberries into a pitcher (optional ).
  • Pour the strawberry lemonade into a pitcher. Do not add any ice as it will dilute your strawberry lemonade. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 to 2 hours to allow the flavors to combine.
  • When ready to serve, stir well then pour over ice and serve immedately.

Notes

Depending on how sweet your strawberries are you may need to adjust the amount of sugar syrup accordingly.
