Peanut Sauce for Spring Rolls

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 Cup Hoisin Sauce
  • 4 Tablespoons Peanut Butter Creamy
  • 3/4 Cup Water
  • 1 Tablespoon Sugar

Top with: ( All Of The Below Are Optional )

  • Hot Sauce Chili Paste or Siracha Hot Sauce
  • Chopped Roasted Peanuts
  • Pickled Daikons & Carrots

Instructions
 

  • In a saucepan on Low heat add in the Hoisin sauce.
  • Also add in the peanut butter .
  • Stir to combine.
  • Pour in the water and stir to combine. Pork stock can also be used instead of water but the recipe will have to be slightly adjusted.
  • Add in the sugar and stir to dissolve.
  • Once everything is well combined turn the heat up to Medium-Low and bring the sauce to a simmer. Stir occasionally to prevent the sauce from burning. The sauce will begin to thicken.
  • Turn off the heat once it has the desired thickness.
  • Spoon into a small dipping bowl and add some hot sauce (optional ). You can use either the chili paste or siracha hot sauce.
  • Top with some chopped roasted peanuts .

  • And also top with some pickled carrots & daikons (optional ) .

Notes

Taste and adjust the sauce. If the sauce is too salty or too thick for your liking then simply add more water. If the sauce is too thin then add more peanut butter or hoisin sauce. Cover and refrigerate any leftovers.  Reheat the sauce in the microwave before serving.
