Tofu and Chinese Chives Soup

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Ground Pork
  • 14 oz Soft Tofu
  • 1 Bunch Chinese Chives

Season the pork with:

  • 1 Teaspoon Fish Sauce
  • 1 Teaspoon Chicken Seasoning
  • ¼ Teaspoon Garlic Salt
  • 1/8 Teaspoon Black Pepper
  • ¼ Teaspoon Sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon Chopped Shallots

For the soup:

  • 10 Cups Water
  • ½ Tablespoon Salt
  • 2 Tablespoons Chicken Seasoning

Instructions

  • Season the ground pork with fish sauce, chicken seasoning, garlic salt, black pepper, and shallots. Mix well.
  • Separate and clump the ground pork into smaller pieces. Set aside.
  • Cut the Chinese chives into 1 inch in length. Cut off a little bit from the bottom of the chives and discard. Set aside.
  • Rinse tofu and cut into smaller pieces. Set aside.
  • Bring a pot of water to boil and add salt
  • Once the water has come to a boil add the ground pork.
  • Then add the tofu.
  • Also add the chicken seasoning. Stir and bring back to a boil.
  • Remove any foam from the top of the soup.
  • Once the soup has come to a boil add the chives. Then flip the chives over and remove from heat. Let the soup sit for 10 minutes before serving.
  • Sprinkle on black pepper.
