I’m going to show you how to assemble a Banh Mi ( Vietnamese Sandwich ) the way that Lee Sandwiches does it !

Lucky for me I live in Southern California where there are a plethora of Vietnamese sandwich shops! I can get fresh baked baguettes anytime of the day as I only live about two minutes away from one of those shops . One day after dropping my kids off at school I had decided to stop by  Lee’s Sandwiches to buy me a Banh Mi and I thought to myself, why not show you all how to put one together!

Lee's Sandwich

So I had ordered their #11 “Special” sandwich that morning and took the sandwich home to disassemble it.  I had asked them to cut it in half so that I can disassemble one side of the sandwich. I had then left the other half of the sandwich untouched so that I can use it as an example .  I then reassembled the sandwich exactly the same way that Lee’s sandwiches had assembled it.

If you live near a Vietnamese deli or grocery store than you certainly can make your very own Banh Mi ! Start out by getting yourself a fresh baked baguette from a Vietnamese sandwich shop  and they normally sell for $1 each where I live . Sometimes you can  purchase the rest of the ingredients there and if not then you can get them at an Asian supermarket. At Lee’s Sandwiches they have a small refrigerated section with pretty much everything that you will need to make your own sandwich! The only items they do not sell there is the cilantro and sliced jalapenos which can easily be purchased anywhere.

To make their “Special” Sandwich you will also need besides the baguette  are some cold cut meats, pork liver pate, vietnamese mayonaise, soy sauce, cilantro, sliced jalapenos, and  picked daikons & carrots,
